Few Days Left

Carol and I toured Anna Maria Island again this morning. Then all five of us returned to the beach for a glorious afternoon. It's all rapidly coming to a conclusion. Robin brought his tripod along today so we could get a group shot on the beach. Needless to say, Nathan is loving this vacation!

Same Old Same Old

Warm sunny day. Nathan helped me put out the garbage this morning. Put in some time on the beach. Read a little. Meditated a little. Played with Nathan. Watched him feed seagulls.

Just Another Sunny Day

Relaxed at our place then, when we got tired of that, we went to relax on the beach.

I think Nathan could play forever with his sand toys, as long as someone plays with him. Who would have thought that gradually filling a bucket and emptying it again could provide such ongoing fascination?

Beautiful Beach Day

This morning Robin and I assembled a Lego toy front-end loader for Nathan while Nathan played with the box it came in. Then Nathan helped me carry garbage to the recycle bins. There is a large 6 foot high board gate there that he closed by himself. Then we all drove to Anna Maria Island, five minutes away, and spent a sunny day on the beach. Nathan had fun feeding seagulls, climbing a sand dune, and playing in the surf. We had fun watching him.

A Day at the Pool

We strayed no farther than the back pool today. The day was sunny and warm and we did a whole lot of nothing. Nathan is clearly having a great time. I'm doing a little reading, "Coriolanus" by Shakespeare, a play I've been meaning to read for a long time. And the writing is absolutely and amazingly excellent.

Our next door neighbor's plumbing sprang a leak and today the plumber had to jackhammer through the concrete floor slab to get to the pipes. To say that was noisy would be an understatement. So for a few hours it was like living inside a snare drum here. We didn't see that one coming and both the neighbor and the owner of this place apologized for the racket.

We've been told there will be a space shuttle launch on Feb. 27th and that we can see it from here.

Quiet Sunday

We all had a great and late breakfast this morning, many thanks to Carol. Nathan seems to be enjoying his new digs very much. He hasn't been to the beach yet. That should be fun. We hope to go tomorrow.

We attended the meeting today and had an interesting conversation with an elderly man who's lived in this area since 1926. He said that as a young man he kept hearing that the Good News would be preached in the entire world, he'd think of the very few JWs at that time and think, 'Yeah, right.' "Now," he said, "It's amazing. It's actually being done."
