Concrete Wonders

Late this afternoon we drove to St. Augustine to poke around a little and on the way went by giant, curved overpasses that ramp traffic to the sky and swing under and over one another with a grace and elegance that make Montreal elevated roads look like Stonehenge. Granted the absence of Montreal freeze-thaw cycles enable them to do things not possible in the north. Still, the design and construction is rich with eye appeal.

In St. Augustine I picked up a neat nylon jacket at half price. I forgot to bring one and my leather coat is certainly too heavy for this climate.

On the way back we got lost, so I stopped at a gas station and prodded Lucy for the Wingate hotel, which she promptly found and guided us flawlessly to it. She's certainly earning her keep.
